Rotimi Akeredolu is the new governor-elect of Ondo state.
Akeredolu emerged victorious in the November 26 elections after winning 237,812 votes to defeat Eyitayo Jegede of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who won 145,367 votes.
Below are seven things you should know about Akeredolu:
- He is 60-years-old (Born July 21, 1956).
- He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1978.
- He is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).
- He was president of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) from 2008 to 2010.
- He was the Attorney General of Ondo State from 1997–1999.
- In 2012, the Nigerian Bar Association named its Abuja secretariat after him.
- He contested the 2011 Ondo governorship elections on the platform of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) but lost to Olusegun Mimiko.
